“After School Special” I felt this film had a very television look, sound and feel to it. There were a few actors who were entirely believable; Jennifer Lawrence was one of them, her sister with the paper route was also good. Selma Blair was poor in her role, could the director have helped her achieve a more genuine portrayal, I’m not sure? The ending was far too Happy Hollywood considering what took place not too long before. For me, there were too many weaknesses to give more than 2 stars for this film but that…
Everyone acted their parts brilliantly, I especially liked Selma Blair Everyone acted their parts brilliantly, I especially liked Selma Blair. Its sad and very gritty, there were moments of happiness and hope but I felt like the story was unfinished, I wanted to know what happened to them next..Its apparently based on a true story and it shows you how rough life can be and how alone and in danger children can be, but also how resourceful and resilient they are too. Doesn’t really try to give you any answers or analysis though.. well not that I noticed anyway
Disappointing for an all star cast There was no depth to this film really. The narrative from the main character is more than the actual film itself. The rape scene should have been significant but that story line was over & done in 10 minutes like he werenât a big thing?Based on a true story? Maybe they should of used different actors. Itâs all good & weâll having an all star cast but they didnât fit the roles. Expected this to be a great film but was very disappointed.
